The Fitness Motivator
"Genius is 1% inspiration and 99% perspiration." Thomas Edison
Thomas Edison was not an avid fitness enthusiast but he had it right. To be successful in achieving your fitness or life goals there is undeniably a large amount of effort and dedication involved. The quick fix philosophies and gimmicks that are marketed to help you lose weight or increase lean muscle do not really care about your health. They are gimmicks that play on your emotions and in the end are often more detrimental to your health.
Lifelong Health:
"Fitness is a journey not a destination"
Pro-Active Fitness wants you to become a lifelong fitness enthusiast. This is the only way to achieve true results. Being active and physically fit is something that most people take for granted. We often become teachable about fitness and healthy eating when health issues arise that demand our attention. Making fitness and good eating habits part of your entire life is one of the goals Pro-Active Fitness wants to help you achieve in addition to your specific goals.
The team at Pro-Active Fitness wants to see you achieve your fitness goals and be part of every fitness milestone you achieve. The programs we design are not a quick fix; however, if you follow the program that is designed specifically for you based on your unique needs you will definitely achieve the results you are looking for.
Remember dedication and effort are the key components to succeeding with your fitness goals.
The fitness goals you have set for yourself can be driven by a number of different reasons; however, it is important to make these goals realistic, measurable and time sensitive. It is also important to write your fitness goals down.
The realistic fitness goal .
"Fitness is a journey that is taken one step at a time"
Setting a realistic fitness goal involves both long term and short term goal planning. The long-term goal is important because it gives you direction. The short-term goal is equally as important because it is the engine that keeps you moving in that direction. Once achieved the short-term goal gives you a sense of accomplishment that you otherwise would not experience and often is the reason why most people stop exercising. If you only focus on that long-term goal there are times that you may feel like you are spinning your wheels. Enjoy the small successes and the big successes will follow.
Making goals measurable and time sensitive is important because it keeps you focused on achieving those short-term goals. This causes you to reassess your current fitness regimen and make changes if your current plan is not working.
Writing your goals down has been shown to make a dramatic difference as to whether or not you achieve the goals you are going after. Psychologically the process of putting the goal on paper galvanizes it and puts the body in motion to achieve that goal. If your goal is to work out today, write it down along with your other daily goals and you will be one step closer to success.
"One key to setting good fitness goals is to throw your scale away. That's Right!!!!!!!!!!!!"
Domenico Manago
Throw your scale away
The goal of losing weight. Rarely do I weigh my clients. The scale is something to be used sparingly because it is not giving you accurate information. Yes it tells you your body weight but it does not tell you how many inches you have lost on your waist or how your clothes fit or what your body composition is. Theoretically you could lose inches off your waist and fit into clothes that you have not been able to wear for quite some time and not lose a pound. Decreasing your body fat is the key to getting healthy so throw your scale out the window and enjoy a lifetime of getting healthy.
IMPORTANT IMPORTANT IMPORTANT IMPORTANT
At times it may take up to 6 months to get your body's metabolism firing on all cylinders so stick with the program and keep challenging yourself. If you are challenging yourself your body will eventually comply with what you want it to do. The results will come at different paces throughout your training so be determined and stay with it.
In closing Pro-Active Fitness Mission Statement defines what we want to do for you:
"A team of highly trained and effective fitness experts dedicated to a single goal.. Developing the optimum training program for your specific needs."
